What satellite imagery can tell you about your land

Most pages answering these questions are selling imagery, so they answer the flattering half. These answer the whole thing, with the numbers, from a product that has to live with getting it wrong.

Why these exist. AcreDog watches rural land from public satellite and aerial imagery, and a monitoring service you cannot calibrate your trust in is worse than none. So each of these says plainly what the instrument can do, what it cannot, and how we measured the difference — including the parts that make our own product look more limited than the marketing would like.

Every one of these ends in the same place: the free, dated photograph of your own ground. No account, no payment.
